The FD-1018P Food Dehydrator is as stackable type of dehydrator. The common problem of this type is the unequal heat distribution. The heater and fan are located at the bottom, which causes the trays near the bottom to dry faster than the rest. You would have to shuffle the trays with perfect timing to achieve great results, which is such a hassle. However, the Nesco American Harvest FD-1018P is built with a special feature that has eliminated this problem – the converga-flow drying system. This modern feature regulates the airflow to guarantee fast and uniform heat distribution. It works extremely great! This food dehydrator also has a built in adjustable thermostat that allows me to properly adjust the temperature between 95 degrees – 150 degrees in order to achieve the outcome I desire. If only they added a timer, this unit would have been totally perfect. But they added an on/off switch, which made me even more pleased with this unit.
